Leaning to the Left Pole

Leaning to the Left Pole

Peter Marcus

Leaning to the Left Pole is the follow-up poetry collection from Peter Marcus, the longtime activist and Vancouver poet whose 2019 collection, A Worker’s Friend, was a call to action in poetry form, and playfully expressed the spirit of working-class struggle, leftist politics and social justice.

This new collection maintains a signature accessibility and engagement. The verses deliver sharp political commentary, environmental concerns and social justice themes through playful puns, inventive wordplay, and metaphor. Throughout, one senses the twinkle in the author’s eye.

This new volume further articulates Marcus’s commitment to reflecting — and challenging — the world with profound left-wing conviction.
